Abrams avoided felony indictments in the wake of the Iran-Contra scandal by copping to a plea of two misdemeanor counts of withholding information from Congress. He was pardoned by President George Bush I (“Aich-Dubya”, as we say in DC), who was even a bigger liar than Elliott. ↩︎
