Today’s Politico features a story by Anna Palmer and Manu Raju on the difficulties Republicans are having raising money on Wall Street. The article quotes billionaire Republican John Catsimatidis, who recently announced he was running for New York City mayor, as follows: “If President Obama shows that Washington is more the middle of the road, gets away from the blame game, it may be harder to raise Republican money in New York.”
Yes, let’s get away from that blame game stuff, like who was responsible for a multi-trillion-dollar meltdown that doubled the nation’s debt in a year’s time and almost destroyed the economic gains of the past twenty years all around the world! Let’s not go there!
Afterwords
Politico reports that the two complaints most heard by GOP fundraisers working the Big Apple concerned an overemphasis on social issues—aka rednecks talkin’ rape and not doing a good job of it—and delays in disaster aid following hurricane Sandy. Listen, Congress, stop wasting good money on Social Security and Medicare and fix my damn beach house! Now!
