Roy Moore, the kissin’ judge, seems to be just about the limit for a lot of people, everyone from the reptilian Mitch McConnell—“I believe the women”—to compassionate libertarian Nick Gillespie—“Roy Moore and the End of Republican Credibility”—not to mention one-time Republican hitman Rich Lowry—"He can’t quite bring himself to deny dating underage girls”.
Of course, if you believe the allegations, he didn’t merely date them, he undressed them and fondled them, crossing the line from creepy to criminal. So there’s that.
But, excuse me, why do we draw the line at Roy, who’s been accused of criminally indecent behavior, and sort of ignore the president of the United States, who promised to torture the accused, and their entirely innocent relatives as well, just for, you know, just for the sheer pleasure of inflicting unspeakable pain on another human being? Why strain on a gnat and swallow Donald Trump? I’m sorry, folks. The time for drawing a line in the sand passed a long time ago.
