I don’t buy the notion that “It was only a matter of time before Baltimore exploded,” an “explanation” given by reporter Michael Fletcher, a reporter who has lived there for 30 years. Arson, looting, and vandalism are not a response to injustice but a celebration of lawlessness.
What could be worse than scenes of democratic protest being overwhelmed by mindless violence? Well, mindless violence being exploited in the crassest manner possible for partisan political gain, by one William Kristol, who had the wit to tweet the following:
“Winning GOP message: Against anarchy & chaos, at home & abroad. Cheney-Giuliani 2016 probably too much to hope for…But if not them, who?”
Bill, I didn’t think you could sink that low, because I didn’t think that anyone could sink that low.
