I won’t count the ways I’ve abused “thoughtful” right-winger Ramesh Ponnoru, because if I did I’d be up all night, but today I come to praise Ramesh, not to bury him. Ramesh has generally been a “on the one hand, on the other” guy when it comes to be the Trump impeachment, but it appears that there is, ultimately, a point at which Ramesh can no longer simply nod vaguely when all around him his compatriots are insisting that Donald’s diapers smell like roses, and that, recently, that point had been reached, as evidenced by the methodical, balanced beatdown Ramesh has unleashed on the all-deserving head of Texas Republican Congressman Chip Roy—“New Defenses of Trump Are as Bad as the Old Ones”, sharply subtitled “A Republican congressman who kept an open mind is now making nonsensical arguments for the president.”
I won’t rehash Ramesh’s arguments, instead simply remarking that they’re excellent and ought to be read in full. Go Ramesh! Go Ramesh! And, from now on, when you’re in a restaurant, always sit with your back against a wall, facing the entrance, with an exit nearby, and a firm grip on the cutlery.
