Well, Mr. President, I am not privy to all the top-secret briefings that you receive, but I can tell you that Iran is not going to develop a nuclear weapon in March 2014. If I know this, how come you don’t?
There are, well, about ten stupid things about that statement. If you had been paying attention, Mr. President, you might have noticed that the Israelis have been saying that Iran cannot be allowed to develop a nuclear weapons capability, whatever that is supposed to mean. But according to you, that ship has sailed. Capability? They’ve already got it! Sorry, Bibi!
No, the Iranians don’t have a nuclear capability yet, and they aren’t going to be building a bomb in the next year. We’ve heard these predictions for the past twenty years, and guess what? No bomb!
Sometimes, Barack, I get the impression that you’re not paying attention.
Afterwords
Aron Heller of the AP says that Bibi is saying that the time of reckoning is, well, next month. So I guess this is another version of the Obama first debate/Chuck Hagel testimony gambit: if it’s dangerous to say something intelligent, just play stupid. Well, it that’s the strategy, Mr. President, you’ve executed it to perfection. It would be nice if you could muster the courage to tell Bibi that there isn’t going to be any attack on Iran, and you both know it, but I guess that’s just not your style.
