Really, that’s the meme du jour on the right, with the Wall Street Journal (of course) leading the way. “The President is treating our neighbor like Obama treated Israel”, sighs the Journal, though this probably doesn’t mean that Trump will be giving Mexico $4 billion a year, no strings attached, until the end of time.1
I don’t know what other whoppers the Journal came up with, since I couldn’t read the whole piece (subscribers only and all that, and I’m definitely not a subscriber), but, really, even in a week of Trump, that was enough. Face it, right-wingers: “Donald Trump will be is our very worst president, by a very wide margin”
- Mexico has a population of 127 million, while that of Israel is 8 million, so if Trump were really keeping pace with Obama, he’d be handing out around $60 billion, but I think the whole damn point is pretty moot. ↩︎
