Obama, Murderer Of Children, Now Seeks To Be Their Savior

I don’t particularly fault President Obama’s response to the terrible murders at Newtown. I’m sure he felt that the country demanded that he “do something,” and certainly his party did. And I guess I don’t find it too unforgivable that he had children present at the press conference introducing his package of reforms, none of which I find particularly objectionable, and none of which I find significant. I don’t really know if the President strongly believes in gun control or strongly believes that he needs to show to the parents of Newtown and to the liberals who hate guns that he’s on their side—a perfectly legitimate political activity for a Democratic president.

This is easier for me to say because I’ve said it before. I despise the NRA, which really exists to defend the gun show culture. It’s perfectly possible to defend the “right” of self-defense that Justice Scalia bestowed upon us while banning banana clips and other paraphernalia dear to the hearts of the survivalist clique.* Whether that will save any lives is another matter.

What will save lives is ending President Obama’s killer drone program, which, in the past three years, has killed over a thousand people in Pakistan alone, many of them women and children. President Obama has found the courage to defy the NRA. If only he had the courage to defy the CIA.
