Yes, that’s pretentious, but so what? Janeane gives better foreign policy advice and (probably) better head than Paul Wolfowitz, Condoleezza Rice, and hundreds of other double-dome distinguished fellows and chairs who have spent the past thirty years striving to wedge the U.S. ever deeper in our ongoing Middle East quagmire.
The point is, yes, Meryl Streep looked like a bit of an idiot standing up at what is now the bicoastal media elite’s premiere orgy of over-exposure and self-congratulation to castigate Donald Trump for his sins, but so what? Donald Trump is a jerk. And Meryl, and anyone else, is both entitled and accurate to say so.
