Okay, Gen. McM didn’t really say that. But he has been willing to lie before, when it was, you know, necessary, like when Congress might not give the Army all the money that it really, really needed. When H. R. first got the job as national security advisor, I recalled in a brief post, “Lt. Gen. H. R. McMaster: Will lie for money”, how in testifying before Congress McMaster informed his listeners that “Russia possesses a variety of rocket, missile and cannon artillery systems that outrange and are more lethal than U.S. Army artillery systems and munitions.” Unfortunately, no one asked McMaster to explain how the Russians were able to do this on a budget one seventh as large ($84 billion vs. $598 billion).
Well, anyway, now we know how he got the job!
