Over at Fortune, a magazine that I used to take more seriously than I do now, Katherine Eban has a fantastic takedown of the Fast and Furious “scandal,” giving me more proof than I could have imagined that Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Cal) and the rest of the Republican wolfpack are in fact entirely without principle. You should read the entire article yourself, and when you’re finished I suspect that, like me, you’ll feel strangely sympathetic to poor Attorney General Eric Holder, who, if he has few principles himself other than political expediency, is not compulsively and completely malign in all of his dealings with his fellow human beings, which makes him one up on the Republicans who run the House of Representatives.
