Writes Dave, “With Trump’s acquiescence, Russia’s successful military intervention to rescue Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has made the Kremlin the new indispensable power in the region — simultaneously maintaining close relations with Israel, Iran, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Jordan.” Why, it’s almost as if none of these countries are really that mad at each other!
Ever since George W. Bush’s invasion of Iraq destroyed the Iraq bogyman, Israeli Premier Benjamin Netanyahu and the entire U.S. foreign policy establishment have been laboring to inflate the Iranian bogyman, most particularly, of course, the fabled though never existent Iranian “bomb”. Now it seems all that talk about Iranian hegemonism/fanaticism/existential threatism, etc. was a lot of jive. Makes you think, doesn’t it?
