Bob Woodward wants to know what the president knew and when he knew it, or rather, had the president known something, when would he have known it. Big bad Bob, seriously desperate for attention, gets a little from Tal Kopan at Politico, and is happy to use his knowledge of what happened in the Nixon Administration, which was like, 40 years ago, to “prove” that, well, maybe there’s nothing fishy going on here, but the president has to prove that.
In particular, Bob wants to know why former IRS Commissioner Doug Shulman went to the White House 150 times last year. Sportingly, Tal links to a story that, had Bob read it, would have answered his question: Shulman was meeting with White House officials, none of whom was the president, to talk about health reform, because the IRS will play a lead role in implementing the Affordable Care Act.
Bob, of course, can’t be bothered with facts. He’s tired of this young whipper-snapper who won’t return his calls being president, and someone should damn well investigate him, about something.
There’s a lot that I don’t like about President Obama. But at least he pisses off Bob Woodward.
