Over at the New York Times—yeah, the New York Times!—Alessandra Stanley definitely finds the funny in a generally disapproving review of the new Showtime series, “Gigolo,” which I have just learned how to spell. “Gigolo” is a reality show that shows us gigolos getting it on with their clients, including one Las Vegas lad named “Jimmy,” and, well, it’s Alessandra’s joke, so I’ll let her tell it:
“Samantha, a cheerful photographer’s assistant from Minnesota, hires Jimmy so she can explore her urge to, as she puts it, “control a man and deny him any happiness.” (It turns out she means handcuffs, not marriage.)”
