I guess John Kerry wants me to hate him. Here’s what our secretary of state has to say about Edward Snowden, the dude who exposed massive and ongoing illegal and unconstitutional spying by our government: ““Edward Snowden is a coward. He is a traitor. And he has betrayed his country. And if he wants to come home tomorrow to face the music, he can do so.”
John, it’s you and your boss who will be remembered as cowards and liars, as servants of a murderous and deceitful national security state. Edward Snowden? He’ll be something of a hero, as he is already.
Afterwords
Over at the Atlantic, Conor Friedersdorf, in the act of taking down George Packer, gives a good summary of why the information released by Snowden and Glenn Greenwald is so frightening, and why those who attack them, like Kerry, are so disgusting.
