William Kristol, a man I love to hate—or at least ridicule—has a plaintive post up at his rag, the Weekly Standard, labeled “No Outrage”, in which the enraged Mr. Kristol gives vent to his bewilderment that no Republican—not Jeb Bush, not George Bush, not Dick Cheney—has been willing to fault Donald Trump for asserting that the Bush Administration “knowingly and purposefully lied us into war in Iraq”, as Bill puts it, and as I have too, on numerous occasions.
Here’s why, Bill. Because the Bush Administration knowingly and purposefully lied us into war in Iraq, that’s why.
Afterwords
The refusal of even Dick “the Wrath of God” Cheney to tangle with Trump over this issue (Cheney said he’d support Trump if he wins the nomination) demonstrates that the Republican establishment has (silently) realized that American people now consider the war in Iraq to have been a disaster and that the less said about it, the better. Which means that people like Bill Kristol aren’t really part of the Republican establishment any more.
