I have never been, nor am I today, a fan of Bernie Sanders’ economic ideas, which I find uniformly awful. Unlike Bernie, I am not a mercantilist. I do not believe that there are X number of “good jobs” in the world, or that it is the duty of the U.S. government to ensure that all the “good jobs” are kept in the United States. Bernie’s economic “ideas”—that we should, basically, import nothing but papayas—are so farcical that, frankly, I could have not imagined that anyone could have believed them until he started running his mouth.
Well, I still think that way. But at the Democratic Convention, Bernie’s shown more class in the last two days than he’s done for the whole campaign. Bernie, I just put on my hat. And now I’m taking it off. To you.
