“Russia Becomes a Grain Superpower as Wheat Exports Explode”, reports (or, rather, “explodes”) Bloomberg grain dude Anatoly Medetsky. And, in fact, rising wheat exports from Russia are a tribute both to capitalism and “God” (or, you know, “weather”), but to get the explosive results he wants, showing Russian wheat exports surpassing those of the individual totals for the U.S. and the EU, Anatoly has to use projected results for 2017. And that “grain superpower” bit? In 2008, according to Anatoly, the Russian grain harvest ran about 108 million tons. In 2016, about 115 million. Kind of a quiet explosion, one might say. And not really “super”.
