“My favorite three words in our Constitution are the first three words: ‘We the People’,” [General Colin] Powell said on Fareed Zakaria’s ‘GPS’ on Sunday. “But recently, it’s become ‘Me the President’ as opposed to ‘We the People.’ And you see things that should not be happening.”

Gee, General, do you think you could have spoken up, you know, two years ago, like, before Donald Trump was elected president? Would it have killed you to stand up and say that, while you didn’t agree with Hillary Clinton on every major policy issue, her record as secretary of state was commendable and the whole private server issue had been blown way out of proportion? Or is the only reason you have four stars on your shoulder is that you like to polish them? Because these days you never seem to show up until after the battle is over.
