Yes, I did get carried away in last year’s tasteless, sneering post regarding the $2 million bike shed at the East Falls Church Metro station. Now, I still maintain that $2 mil for a bike shed is too much, but as for the sneer that the shed was practically empty—well, again, that was true then, but no more! It’s packed, even though this clumsy photo hardly proves it. But take it from me, it was! Not only that, but there were several dozen more bikes parked in free racks near the Metro entrance, which is under the tracks and thus out of the rain.
But wait! There’s more! I myself rented a bike from one of those Capital Bike racks and pedaled around old FC. The bike lanes were still almost empty, because all those virtuous bike riders were, you know, hard at work! Alan Vanneman, came to scoff, and stayed to ride!
