In some sort of come on or other that I was reading, Commentary guy John Podhoretz began a sentence with the words, “Whatever else you want to say about Donald Trump, ….”
I’m afraid those nine words were a bit of dealbreaker for me, because, well, that day I read no further. Still, there are ways John could have finished that sentence that I would have found acceptable, to wit: “Whatever else you want to say about Donald Trump, he did, in an extraordinary attempt to have himself declared president for life, conjure up and inflame a bloodthirsty mob that beat a policeman to death, trampled the life out of a helpless woman, and caused three other deaths in a hysterical outburst of nihilistic fury.”
Well, if that was where you were going, John, I apologize for my overly hasty dismissal. But I don’t think it was.
