Anyone who followed the blow-out presidential campaign of this thrice-married defender of the American way knows that Newt likes to take it up another level, or perhaps two or three. Here he drops it down about ten, rambling on in his patented, self-congratulatory world-historical manner about this and that, shifting aimlessly from topic to topic to conceal the fact that he has nothing to say, an outpouring of blather that provides, of course, exactly zero proof of his vague yet vicious charges about “radical Islamist” influence in the U.S. Reading this “document” that implies everything yet says nothing, one has the very strong feeling that Newt had a lawyer work it over to take out anything actionable. “Don’t sweat it, Newt! They can’t sue you for anything because you didn’t say anything!”
Most preposterous of all, this piece, which runs six Politico pages, avowedly written in defense of Michele Bachmann’s grotesquely false charges regarding the Muslim Brotherhood and the Obama Administration, says nothing about them! Because the only thing that can be said about them is that they are false!
Afterwords
Glenn Greenwald, as usual, provides more context, particularly hammering Politico for foisting this festering lump of ordure on its readers, and with good reason. This isn’t news, guys. It’s crap.
