Fault Rep. Paul Ryan’s latest budget fantasy because it cuts Medicare, and he’s got an answer: “We won the senior vote. I did dozens of Medicare town halls in states like Florida, explaining how these are the best reforms to save the shrinking Medicare program, and we are confident this is the way to go.”
That’s because you ain’t shrinking the program for the geezers, Paulie. None of your cuts take effect until 2024, and they only affect folks coming onto the program. The shuffleboard set have been grandfathered in! They’re set for life!
Afterwords
Actually, Paulie’s telling a double lie. When he and Mitt were winning the seniors, they were promising the old folks that the $700 billion in Medicare savings envisioned by ObamaCare over the next ten years wouldn’t happen. Now Ryan is saying that he’ll get rid of ObamaCare, but keep the $700 billion in cuts! Sorry, geezers! You’re screwed!
